This beautiful cacao is grown by a small family on the border area of Oaxaca, Mexico in Xochistlahuaca, Guerrero which is famous for its ancestral connections with growing cacao of the finest quality. It is prepared and processed by a friend in her small processing set up with love and attention so that it produces the highest quality and vibration with prayer and sustainability from the tree to you.
For our ancestors, cocoa represented abundance, love and wisdom. It was taken ceremonially to thank Quetzalcoatl for the gift of the cacao seed. Cocoa united the members of the community, it was customary to offer a cup of cocoa every time someone visited a home, thus they communicated with the truth of the heart.
In current times cocoa continues to be a blessed fruit for some indigenous peoples, the Amuzgos of the upper area of the sierra of the state of Guerrero use it in their traditional festivals, to live among families, when children and adolescents conclude their school cycles ; Cocoa is an essential part of the life of the community.
It became very popular for its beneficial properties for the body, it provides antioxidants, magnesium, potassium, zinc, due to its high content of soluble fiber, it helps with easy digestion and combat overweight. However, cocoa goes beyond being just a food, it is medicine for the heart, it is said that it heals the soul.
